Client Spotlight: Jenn V.
August 12, 2022 | Client Spotlight
Every month, we highlight one of our incredible clients at Motive Training. These stories showcase what’s possible when you train with intent, build strength the right way, and take control of your health. This month, we’re excited to spotlight Jenn V.
Jenn has been training with us for more than six months, and in that time she’s made remarkable progress—mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Jenn is a busy mom of three rambunctious boys…
On top of parenting, she works full-time in the mental health field. Like many of us, she often found herself putting her family, career, and responsibilities ahead of her own well-being. Exercise and recovery rarely made it onto her calendar. But Jenn had a vision: she wanted to feel better, regain her strength, and prepare for big adventures like hiking and backpacking out west.
That’s when she turned to Motive Training. From day one, Jenn committed to making herself a priority. She wanted more than just a workout—she wanted a program that would give her the tools, mobility, and confidence to do the things she loves most.
Training With Purpose
Jenn’s program focused on the foundations that matter for long-term results:
- Improving ankle dorsiflexion and eversion for stronger, healthier feet and lower legs.
- Building core strength to stabilize her spine and improve posture.
- Developing single-leg strength and stability to handle uneven ground and reduce injury risk.
- Expanding overhead shoulder mobility and strength for better control and load tolerance.
At Motive, these aren’t random exercises—they’re targeted solutions built from her Functional Range Assessment. This assessment allowed us to pinpoint where Jenn needed the most work and design a plan that addressed those specific areas. Over time, this approach gave her more range of motion, more control, and more strength than she’s had in years.
Putting Training Into Action
Recently, Jenn took on one of her dream adventures: a week of hiking and canoeing through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Northern Minnesota.

She hiked miles of rugged terrain with heavy gear, carried packs weighing up to 60 pounds—sometimes two at a time—and even shouldered a 40-pound canoe across trails. What could have been a punishing experience instead became empowering. Jenn reported feeling energetic each day, with no lingering soreness at night. She even practiced her Controlled Articular Rotations (CARs) daily to keep her joints moving well while navigating rocks, roots, and steep paths.
Her preparation made all the difference. Because of her consistency in training, she didn’t just survive the trip—she thrived in it.
Stronger, Healthier, More Confident
Jenn’s story is about more than hiking and canoeing. It’s about taking back control of her health, proving to herself that she’s capable of so much more than she thought, and setting an example for her kids. Her dedication shows what can happen when you commit to a program that blends mobility, strength, and resilience.
At Motive Training, we believe in building the foundation first. By focusing on mobility and joint health, we help people of all backgrounds—busy parents, professionals, athletes, and adventurers—gain the freedom to move without pain and the strength to pursue their passions. Jenn embodies this philosophy, and we’re proud to have her as part of the Motive family.
This is only the beginning of her journey, and we’re excited to see where her training takes her next.
