Get Assessed
Most people who come to Motive have already tried things. They’ve trained, stretched, seen someone, or just pushed through. What they haven’t had is a clear picture of how their body actually moves—where range is genuinely limited, where control is missing, and what those gaps mean for training and daily life.
That’s what assessment gives you. It’s not a formality or a sales step. It’s the information your program has to be built on to actually work.
Every Motive client starts here.
01
Motive Movement & Mobility Assessment
This is where most Motive clients begin. In 90 minutes, we evaluate how your joints move, how well you control those ranges, and how your current limitations connect to your training and daily life.
You will move during this session. We guide you through key positions and patterns so we can see how your body responds in real time—and so you begin to understand how we train. Nothing is passive. By the end, you have more clarity about how your body moves than most people get from years of training.
You leave with a clear direction: what to focus on, how often to train, and how your program will be built from here.
This assessment is required to begin personal training at Motive.
02
Functional Range Assessment (FRA)
The Functional Range Assessment is a comprehensive joint-by-joint evaluation based on the Functional Range Conditioning methodology. It measures passive range, active control, and the gap between the two across every major joint in the body—producing objective baseline data that can be tracked and retested over time.
This option is best suited for people who want a complete picture of their movement capacity, are already familiar with FRC, or are dealing with complex or longstanding restrictions that haven’t responded to other approaches.
03
Which Assessment Is Right for You
For most people the answer is straightforward. If you are new to Motive, coming in with a specific complaint, or simply want to understand what your body needs before committing to a program, start with the Motive Movement & Mobility Assessment. It is the required first step for personal training at Motive and covers what the majority of new clients need.
The Functional Range Assessment is the right choice if you are already familiar with Functional Range Conditioning, want objective baseline data across every major joint, or are dealing with complex restrictions that haven’t responded to other approaches.

READY TO GET ASSESSED?
Our assessments are designed to give you a clear starting point. We evaluate how your body actually moves, identify the biggest limitations, and determine where training should begin.
If pain, mobility restrictions, or recurring injuries are part of the picture, starting with an assessment helps ensure your training is focused, efficient, and built around what your body actually needs.
Instead of guessing what exercises might help, we identify the joints and movement patterns that require attention first so your training addresses real limitations rather than chasing symptoms.
